History
Around 1850, at the time of Napoleon III, the manor house of the present inn was built in a central location in Cussey-les-Forges, right opposite the monumental 13th-century church of Saint-Rémi.
Cussey-les-Forges is a municipality in the Côte-d'Or department (Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region) with a population of 138. It belongs to the arrondissement of Dijon.
The village lies at an altitude between 299 and 472 metres. With 6 inhabitants per km2, it is a very quiet place ....
Rue du Four, where the Auberge is located, still bears witness to the blast furnaces, iron mines and forges that marked the village's history.
In the 20th century, a wine merchant lived in this stately home.
Around 1970, Mr Poisot inherited the house from his aunt on condition that the family home would not be sold during his lifetime.
In 2021, Jan Weststrate and Pauline van der Veeken bought this majestic property to turn it into a six-room inn and restaurant.
They deliberately chose the location and the name of the inn. An inn that welcomes travellers in a friendly and accessible way and invites them to discover the beauty of the surroundings and the flavours of Burgundy.
The Auberge is equipped with all the modern facilities you would expect from a small hotel to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable.
The fully renovated Auberge will open its doors in May 2024.
